We are currently seeking an intermediate level project management professional to join our growing project management team. In this operationally critical role, your focus will be providing structure and discipline to projects in order to guide them to successful completion that is both on-time and on- budget.
Working with the Engagement Lead to understand the full scope of the project work, you will develop fully resourced, budgeted and sequenced project plans, and then manage to these plans, making updates and reporting on variances as required.
You will also play a key role in internal team communications and coordination to pro-actively keep projects on track, closely monitor progress so that deviations from project plans can be identified and addressed early.
Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in organization-wide resource planning activities and have an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement efforts in our project management practices.
More specific responsibilities of the position include:
Working with Engagement Leads to develop and maintain project work plans
Working with Directors, Engagement Leads and other Project Managers to establish project resource needs and coordinate resources across projects
Ensuring that all team members have the required information and resources to carry out their tasks effectively
Analyzing project performance, identifying risks and issues, collaborating on solutions & escalating as appropriate
Monitoring progress and providing regular project progress reports and status updates
Maintaining accurate and up to date project data in our professional services automation software (Mavenlink)
Participating in and/or leading project meetings
Maintaining project change logs
Managing client communication, including organizing and participate in client meetings
Simultaneously managing multiple (10+) projects
Working with other project managers and the Director of Operations to collaborate on lessons learned and drive organizational standards and processes
University degree in business, engineering, social sciences or other relevant field. An interest in social sciences and public policy is an asset.
2 – 4 years of experience in project management within a research, consulting, or other professional services environment, ideally managing a wide variety of projects from small to large size in
PMP, or CAPM designations highly preferred
Detail orientation and organization is critical – both Blueprint management and individual team members will depend on your ability to be on top of the
Strong process and leadership skills in implementing business systems
A collaborative approach and strong communications skills, especially when working with teams executing complex work in the face of tight deadlines
Fast learner with a growth mindset, with curiosity to learn about both processes and the details of projects
Strategic thinker, with a leadership orientation
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint); experience with Mavenlink an asset
